As you probably know by now, I like collecting clothing with powerful sayings or phrases, and I picked up yet another top recently that says, "Good things are coming." I am a strong believer in manifestation, and at the same time, I recognize that it's so easy to tumble into negativity, thinking that things are not working out or worried that our dreams won't come true.
Where do these debilitating thoughts come from? Well, if we are being honest with ourselves, they come from a place of fear and feelings of unworthiness of experiencing good things in life.
More often than not, we fear the unknown and don't like the uncertainty that comes with it. It's something we can't control and without that control, we fear that we will fail big time and mess everything up. Unworthiness comes from not embracing self-love and not recognizing the beautiful and unique souls that we are. And we compare ourselves to others, which, unfortunately, is so easy to do with social media. We see other people share about good things happening to them, and we immediately want to analyze and criticize ourselves for not being in the same place. The truth is, we are not supposed to be in the same place as everyone else. We all have our own personal journeys to make, and we all learn and grow at different paces.
So how do we stay laser-focused on manifestation without letting our own thoughts get in the way? Instead of fearing all the unknowns and uncertainties, embrace the present and focus on what you do have. Practice gratitude everyday and make it part of your routine. While you're having your morning cup of coffee or tea, or other beverage of choice, write down something you're grateful for. I've found that after doing this, I'm more focused on the present moment and more likely to go with the flow with whatever happens during the day. Instead of believing you're unworthy, find ways to replace those negative thoughts and keep your optimism going. Whether it's listening to music, getting creative, exploring nature, or surrounding yourself with inspirational sayings, they all serve the same purpose of fueling your soul, and filling your joy cup.
And, according to the law of attraction, when you want something enough, and you're not distracted by limiting thoughts and beliefs, the magic of manifestation begins and the Universe will come through for you!
When I'm stuck a with day that's gray and lonely I just stick out my chin and grin, and say, oh The sun'll come out tomorrow So you gotta hang on 'til tomorrow Come what may Tomorrow, tomorrow I love ya tomorrow You're always a day away.
-Tomorrow, from the Broadway musical Annie (1977). Music by Charles Strouse with lyrics by Martin Charnin.
Music is where I find my inspiration and optimism, and often, it's songs from Broadway musicals that resonate the most. The song Tomorrow from the musical Annie is probably one of the top most optimistic songs of all time. In terms of manifestation, I believe this song is saying, believe in and have hope for tomorrow, but enjoy the present. Today may be "gray and lonely" but keep your chin up and believe in all the wonderful things coming your way!
Shine on, my friends!
p.s. For me, Annie also made it cool and very sweet to sing to your dog (Annie had a dog named Sandy)! I'm pretty sure it was that film musical, and probably The Wizard of Oz as well, that made me want a dog to sing to, and you know what, I have a dog now, my Reesee girl! I'd like to think she likes this tune when I sing it to her!!
oh my goodness I LOVE singing with my doggies around lol they don't applause but their soft way of just being there makes me think they must like it hahaha Annie and Wizard of Oz are such classics
