I'm so excited to share the very first Shine Your Joy infographic! Special thanks to Ann Marie Catabia, who designed it!! After digging deep and looking back on my past blog posts, I selected the most powerful themes to capture in a simple, yet profound way about how to shine your joy to others.
In my blog post, Keep Smiling, I not only explain the positive benefits of smiling for our own joyful well-being, but since smiling is so contagious, others around us will feel that same joy. Never underestimate the power of a smile in someone's life. We never know what they're going through and our smiles have the potential to impact their lives for the better.
My Heal the World 2.0 blog post represents the spirit of lending a helping hand and living a life of purpose. When we strive to shine our joy to others by volunteering, we can work together to make the world a better place for future generations and fill our joy cup at the same time!
And in my How should our lives really be measured? and Kindness matters posts, it's all about love and kindness and finding ways to lift each other up. Simply listening to someone express their joys and sorrows shows full support and empathy for what they're going through. It makes room for more joy too.
Apparently, I am really late to the game in discovering the music group, Fits and the Tantrums. When I created an Instagram story last week, I searched the music feature for a song about shining and listened to "I Just Wanna Shine" for the very first time. These lyrics perfectly describe how amazing it is when we fully embrace our lives and shine our joy.
I just wanna shine Like the sun when it comes up Run the city from the rooftops 'Cause today's gonna be my day I just wanna climb To the top of a mountain Standing tall when I'm howling 'Cause today's gonna be my day
—Lyrics from "I Just Wanna Shine," performed Fitz And The Tantrums, written by Nicholas Long, from All the Feels album, 2019
I also learned a fun fact about this song which makes it even more perfect: it was released two years ago on my birthday, July 14th! What can I say, this song was meant to be featured in this post.
"I Just Wanna Shine" captures the incredible vibes that come from making today, and everyday, "your day" to shine your joy. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the impact it will have on those around you.
